This is a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess fanfic. I just started replaying the game again and it is my favorite Zelda game. There's a ship in this game that involves Ilia and Link. That's what this fanfic is about. There will be NO smut (sorry perverted 12-year-olds). Will have intense themes though so you have been cautioned. I hope you enjoy it!!

In modern day Hyrule, Link is an orphan who lives in an orphanage. Because he is meant to be the Hero of Hyrule, his bunkmates get jealous and bully him for it. When Link enters first grade, he befriends Zelda, the most beautiful girl in Hyrule, and eventually falls in love with her. The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. THIS STORY IS VERY OLD, OVER 5 YEARS OLD, AND NEEDS MAJOR EDITING AND REWRITING!! Saria had just confessed her feelings Link and townsfolk want him and Princess Zelda to become a couple. The boy doesn't like any of these, heading outside Zora's Domain to have alone time. After speaking to the mysterious musical scarecrow he hears that he can meet his darker counterpart. How A Princess Fights.
When Zelda is forced to marry a tyrant that would bring her country to ruin, she lashes out at her new husband. The new King plots against her so he can have the kingdom and the Triforce for himself but Zelda has many friends in Hyrule. She must leave Hyrule Castle, her home, with no one but a knight at her side. She leaves with a promise, a promise to return some day, an army at her side and retake her kingdom, liberating her subjects from the King's tyranny. This is a Zelink story but I doubt it will be as good as my first Zelink story, 'A Princess Problem' but let's give it a try.
