This is an essay (more of a rant) about the current state of literature in the Philippines. Sadly, it's not going so great.
Note: It might be offensive to some of the readers. Also, this isn't meant to attack the fans of Diary ng Panget and She's Dating the Gangster. Fans have the right to enjoy whatever it is they like.

It all started when Isaiah Santos uncovers a diary in the Filipiniana Library. The diary is old and most of the entries are written by Sinukuan which later on he found out that it was one of the many aliases of a known Filipino Hero - the great Andres Bonifacio. In the diary, it reveals a secret about a girl whom Andres was seeing during the time of the uprising. Some of the Katipuneros called her a fierce warrior but the mason wives during the Spanish colonial era called her the mistress of the revolution. Who is she? And what is the role that she portrayed in the war? Valeria is not an ordinary girl, she is an immortal. She belongs to a tribe that lives in an unknown Island that soon to be called Isla Filipinas. But what is she? And how did she survive all through the years? When Isaiah started his blog about Valeria, the blogosphere went into a frenzy. All historians in the country called him a fraud while others considered his theory about Valeria as fiction. Thanks to his best friend Albert who's there to support him at the same time helped him put up the site. But everything changes when Isaiah received a message from Valeria herself stating that she wanted to meet him. In a quaint ambience of Café Xocolat, a diner next to the Avenue, surrounded by customers of mostly college students, young professionals and professors, Valeria is sitting near the balcony waiting for the blogger to come - ready to tell her tale. Toaster serenades Twinkle
Twinkle juggles her time as a sales analyst in a major advertisement. Her job description supports how the company will budget their money. On the sideline she loves to take selfies and travels around the world. Her life is going well and that includes dating, well, that is until she meets Toaster, the only guy who makes her heart beat like crazy. Toaster juggles his time as a volunteer worker in an orphanage, human rights activist and a part time job as a call center agent, enough to support his own needs. He meets a high standard girl name Twinkle and falls in love to her. They've been dating for months now and there is no other girl he loves and sees in his future other than Twinkle. But his time is long due and Twinkle hasn't formalize yet if they are officially a couple, she is indecisive and evade the topic every time he asks if they are a couple. Will he still endure to a possible rejection or it is time to move on? Twinkle and Toaster are mature and have each plan for the future already. That is the problem, their projected five years from now doesn't match with the well plotted life they have for each other. She likes this and he doesn't is the subtle drama they have. Will love be enough to give up the things they believed and planned all their life so they can be together? Or will their differences finally set them apart? PS: First Chapter will be posted this Saturday, Valentine's Day (2015). Chapter will be uploaded every other day. This is my first wattpad story, so I'm still adjusting on how this goes.
