After being exposed as transgender by her best friend, 16-year-old Aurora Patience is transferred to an all-girls school, where her parents hope that she will be able to grow out of her 'phase'. In this story, Aurora faces many challenges - bullying, parental abuse, sexism - but the most painful of them all are the religious thoughts in her mind that condemn her for being her true self. In a story about love, friendship, and self-actualization, Aurora learns that only she is holding herself back from living life to the fullest.

Zelia is a proud Brazilian kid, on the cusp of adolescence, trying to be good by regularly writing to her mother. But nothing makes sense to her lately... not the doctors who tell her she's faking being sick, certainly not the neighbours in her apartment block, nor those she meets at her new school, in Buenos Aires. All that Zelia wants is friends and family, to play football without being labelled and for her dad to take her passion seriously. As Zelia journeys through her teens, she discovers that when it comes to identity, she doesn't make compromises.
