After being exposed as transgender by her best friend, 16-year-old Aurora Patience is transferred to an all-girls school, where her parents hope that she will be able to grow out of her 'phase'. In this story, Aurora faces many challenges - bullying, parental abuse, sexism - but the most painful of them all are the religious thoughts in her mind that condemn her for being her true self.

In a story about love, friendship, and self-actualization, Aurora learns that only she is holding herself back from living life to the fullest.
