The war is done. The resistance was disbanded. Everyone can now focus on rebuilding.

But as they always say, history repeats itself.

A single scientist has started a project during the war, and soon created a large laboratory of others who had decided to follow their footsteps.

The project was soon called, "The Infinite Stars," named after one of the most dangerous enemies the Freedom Fighters has ever faced.

But the scientists alone couldn't depend on only themselves. They needed hosts to test their experiments on recreating the ruby that had started the war.

Some incident has occurred...the world will never remain the same again. The badniks, the eggforces, the enemies that Sonic and his friends, practically everyone was fighting against from the very beginning, had suddenly took no orders from Eggman, probably because none of his machines even remembers him. With no one to command the machines, the machines all wander around and are forced to adapt to the environment and into the societies that feared and despised them. As this happens, some form of disease breaks out as these strange light cyan pollen like things starts to infest the whole Mobius, making any of the living organisms LITERALLY melt. The ones who are not affected by it are of course, the ones who can regenerate and the /machines/. A society where they are forced to work with the eggforces, or what they used to be to survive through an already melting world...like as if that's possible, right? Disclaimer: Since I am a new writer and new to the Sonic fandom still, I may write some of the characters inaccurately. I will try my best to put as much research into the characters as possible to aim for character accuracy. Due to that reason, do expect some slow updates as I want to give more care of this story as I do with the rest of mine. No ships or any sort of romance would be featured or added here due to me, myself as the writer is not comfortable writing that sort of topic. And of course, none of these characters (due to being an AU) rightfully belong to me, they belong to SEGA. These characters are just going to be altered versions of the originals. Set in another world. A world where Eggman and Infinite have been taking over cities; left right and centre. Using continuous bombing runs from Eggmans newest robots, each programmed by Infinites crimson cubes. Eggman has sent Infinite on a number of missions to hunt down the resistance, however in this world the resistance is scattered. Scattered throughout the land and deep underground. These underground bunkers are called 'War Cabinets'. The resistance is much larger in this universe although in secrecy, they destroy patrols of robots left right and centre. However a new enemy rises and is far beyond the power of Infinite and shadow combined. How will they defeat him? You'll have to read to find out ^^. In this story. It will cover harsh topics like PTSD and paranoia, along with mentions of suicide. Warning: Gore Sad moments Scenes that could feel realistic Have fun reading. :3

Sonic the Hedgehog, hero of Mobius/Earth, had defeated Emerl the ultimate Gizoid that the blue blur raised as his own. After freeing Emerl from his destructive programming, Sonic hoped he didn't do too much damage so he can bring him home. Unfortunately, the damage became severe for the childlike robot. As Emerl says his final goodbye to Sonic and his friends that treated him with kindness and compassion, a light flashes, enveloping the Gizoid. And as the light dissipates, Emerl was no longer there. He was truly gone.............or so the blue hedgehog thought. Unbeknownst to Sonic and his friends, Emerl was teleported to a different world, but not without a heavy cost. With his link with Sonic separated, he loses almost all of his memories of them, their skills and abilities were erased. All except his name. As Emerl sits on the tree, powered down and lost, he would one day be discovered by a group of students, while they were doing their mission. And the leader of the team would form a 'Link' that would change the orange and yellow robot, more or less.

A tragedy in an alternate timeline has lead Sonic and Shadow to travel back in time at the expense of having to never met. Far from how the usual reality could've portrayed it, a reality where Dr. Eggman has stopped his evil schemes and the need for heroes is no longer necessary came into fruition. It explores the mental toll left on the character, as well as on those close to him, from their meetings with the vicious Infinite, and what it truly means to feel weak.

Everyone who had brain cells could see it. Sonic had a crush on someone. With the stares off into space where if you'd ask him what he was thinking about he'd blush and say 'oh nothing important'. The signs were clear as day. Heck even the person Sonic's in love with knew Sonic was in love. The only problem? No one knew who Sonic was in love with.
