Y/N is a new guardian hunter, brought to life by the Traveler. But she is not only a light-bearer but wields a deeper power, that could threaten the very existence of humanity. In between discovering herself, she meets her vanguard, Cayde-6. As their relationship blooms, an ancient Hive god threatens guardians. It's up to Y/N and Cayde to investigate, while Y/N struggles to find herself.
The Taken are planning something, Y/N feels darkness in her. Cayde deals with his own demons as the Vanguard tests him. Y/N also has dreams that occur when an event that changes history is in near future. When a dream about the fate of Cayde occurs, she is left with a hard decision.
Not only does she struggle with the darkness in her, but she must also learn to resist Cayde...

[POST LIGHTFALL, BEGINNING OF SEASON OF DEFIANCE] Mara blinked open her eyes as she awoke from slumber but she couldn't stop the slight wince she produced as the morning sunlight instantly blinded her eyes.
