A lot of people have a lot of different kinds of powers.  This world is full of amazing people who can bend the laws of nature to do incredible things. My brother and I are two such people. His name is Aang, and he's both the most powerful person I've ever met, and the kindest. The world loves Aang, and for good reason. He's the Avatar. 

I, on the other hand, also hold great power, but mine isn't something to celebrate. I don't hold the spotlight the same way Aang does, but that's okay. I don't need to. I used to think I did, but that's not what my power is for.

This is my story, just as much as it is Aang's. We may have walked separate paths, but we ended up at the same place, fighting for the same thing. To save the world, from those who wish to destroy it.All Rights Reserved

His first assault was on the Air Nomads, committing the worst genocide in recorded history. Ani decided her great grandfather's legacy was not going to be her own. She was willing to do whatever it took to put an end to this war, once and for all. Even if that meant leaving her banished brother on his ship and traveling the world with the Avatar, the very person she was supposed to help bring back to the Fire Nation. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar and the Avatar's Protector both kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar and his Protector who mastered all four elements. Only they could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed them most, they vanished. A hundred years have passed and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the War. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the Avatar and the Protector was never reborn into the Air Nomads, and that the cycle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow, the Avatar and the Avatar's protector will return to save the world.

I've never been all that big on adventure. Sure, in my head I was the greatest adventurer who ever lived, slaying demons and taming dragons and what have you. But when you're actually there, and you realize that you're not just there but a Mary Sue too.... well that actually sucks. Awesome in its own way, but nobody wants to be a Mary Sue, or a Gary Stu or whatever. Oh right, I'm getting off track here. My name? Not Mary, that's for sure, but it generally depends on the story. See, if I was to introduce myself in a Japanese or another Asian styled world by my English name....that would be weird.... so I pick a name that I figure fits. Today my name is Amaya. Why? Well, I liked it. And I guess it fits. The name means "Night Rain", and it fits because well, I woke up in the middle of a forest in the middle of the night....and it was raining. Funny how that works huh? Also, I'm a waterbender. Neat right? I guess. But I digress. I should really get to the story right? Well, like I said, it was a rainy night, and I was cold, lost and alone....

There was once a legend that came from ancient book. This book was about how a very few avatar cycles. 2 babies are born. Both of the same decent weather it be Air, Water, Fire or Earth. The children must grow up together, master their birth element and grow to give balance to the world. And so when Avatar Aang was born in the Southern Air Temple, so was another baby. The monks that knew about Aang had yet to know, that a beautiful baby girl was born in the Northern Air temple at the exact date and time as Aang. Soon the Northern monks got in touch with the Southern monks and told each other the great legend has come true. The babies grew up together until one day Monk Gyasto and the other senior monks had something very important to tell the two young friends....... This is were our story begins... (NOT MY ART)
