William Adams has already had a first-year at college, but after an incident at the school, he and his family moved away from the area, in search for a fresh start. So here he is, restarting the first year in a new college.

After everything, all he wants is to keep his head down and make it through the first year and hopefully into the second. He just wants to go to class, make a friend or two and live without looking over his shoulder.

But sometimes the past has a horrible way of following you, no matter how much you try to hide it. No matter how much you try to move forward, there is always someone who can't let the past just be.

But William's secret isn't one he's ashamed of, not at all. He has never hurt anyone, never bullied, lied or cheated. His past is just painful. He isn't ashamed, he's scared.

He wants a fresh start, a chance to be happy, but there is always someone who wants to ruin that.

"What if I'm not one?" I asked, my body wound tight with tension. "One what?" he asked, his voice soft and low. I hesitated. Was I ready? I wanted to tell him so badly. Wanted to scream it from the fucking rooftops. But there would be no going back if I allowed the words to spill out into the world. Telling myself I didn't need someone else's validation, that I knew myself well enough to know with absolute certainty that I was trans was all good and well in principle. But lying here underneath my bed, with my best friend's body pressed so close to mine I could feel his warm breath on my face, I felt those convictions slip through my fingers. Danny's rejection would break me. In a fundamental way. "One what?" he repeated the question, scooting so close to me the tip of his nose brushed mine. Dust motes danced around us, suspended in mid air, teetering on the brink of this momentous feeling wrapping itself around us. I squeezed my eyes shut, pushing down the rush of anxiety trying to drown me. His nose bumped mine again and his breath ghosted over my lips. I opened my eyes and stared unblinkingly into his. 'A girl', I wanted to say, even though I knew the words would taste sour in my mouth, 'what if I'm not a girl?' -------------------------------------- Sean and Danny have been next door neighbours and best friends since they were six years old. 𓆏 Highest Rank: #1 in LGBTfantasy [This story was inspired by @junebugs.n.scones' OC TikTok series, also know as @actualtrash402 on Wattpad!] 𓆏 Sampson Whittager hasn't lived with his grandparents in over ten years, but when his father dies of a mysterious illness and his mother falls ill due to her grief, he and his siblings have to make the tough decision of selling the family farm and moving back to the town of Wisteria Willows. With Sampson soon to turn eighteen, starting public school for the first time, and having to work on the farm to help his grandparents and earn his keep, he doesn't have time to be stressing over silly, childish things. At least, that's what he keeps trying to tell himself in the midst of strange happenings; recurring dreams from his childhood have come back full-force, people are going missing in the woods surrounding his town, and a strange yet charming boy has quite literally fallen into his life and caused quite a stir. Sampson's life is a fragile egg, and all he can do is try to balance it in the spoon that is his fate. It's much harder than it sounds. 𓆏
