historically speaking, calypso was a goddess who fell. she lived lavishly until the olympians came and overthrew the titans, and was banished to a faraway island for pledging allegiance to the defeated party.
in a way, calypso selwyn was a lot like her namesake. she was just a girl growing up in a war who fell in love too young. although, she fell a lot less gracefully.
