"Cold. Heat. Healing. Pain. The world is full of different things that humans interact with and live around. The human mind perceives all of these things differently, and each persons cognition differs through their experiences with them. The more you feel safe around something, feeling power over it, those thoughts lead you closer to being able to control the very thing that you direct those thoughts toward. The human mind has more than we understand. I'm sure this is all a lot to process, so come with me, I'll help you understand."

Seven years after a suspicious accident, Pen Gwinn lives stranded in Antarctica with holes in his memory. Whatever building he wound up in wasn't any normal facility, and after being manipulated into a science experiment, he'd rather stay stranded until he runs out of food than expose his new powers to the world. He stuck with that for as long as he could, but after the evil that gave him his powers comes back for him, he has no choice but to take a leap of faith back into the modern world.

For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!

[MALE READER IN REVERSE 1999] - 𝗦𝗟𝗢𝗪 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗡 FANFIC "𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩, 𝙣𝙤 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙬" ---------------------✸✸✸✸✸✸✸✸✸✸-------------------- It can be challenging to get used to the behaviour of the people in this era but it's important to remember that they are just trying to survive in their own unique way. You never know what they're going through, and a little kindness goes a long way. Time travelling can be quite an experience. It is fascinating to see how things were in the past. For instance, it may be difficult to understand why people behave in certain ways or communicate with different accents, like Ring. Therefore, keep an open mind and embrace the possibility of learning something new. With the right attitude and determination, one can navigate through these challenges and make the most out of this time travelling adventure. There are always those who do not seem to understand the gravity of the situation. Y/N may be an arcanist, or perhaps something else entirely. However, his disregard for the seriousness of time travel can have devastating consequences, and it is impossible to protect the timeline from his reckless behavior. Every decision he makes is like the butterfly's effect where a single flap can cause the 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁 on the other side of the world. So beware, for Y/N may be your saving grace... or the undoing of this universe as you know it. A massive 'What-if', when certain figures associated with 'The Storm' met the Timekeeper? {COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

1 part Complete Mature

You should be advised that nothing about my life is going to make any sense. Sorry, but that is just the cold, horrifying, acid trip horror show that is my life. So without hesitation, I'm just going to lay it all out for you and let you decide what to do from there. Strange Fact #1: I was found naked in a cave when I was less than a week old in the summer of 1629. I should also let you know that I stopped aging at the age of twenty five. So, I have currently been twenty five years old for four hundred and two years, with no sign of ever changing. I don't know why. I don't know how. Acid trip horror show... Strange Fact #2: I can't be killed. I mean, I'm sure I could be killed if someone really put their heart into it, but I have been burned alive, ran over, shot in the chest, stabbed through the heart and fallen off the edge of a cliff, and I've walked away completely fine every time. It hurt, obviously, but in minutes I was back to normal. Strange Fact #3: I'm not alone.
