The great city of Tharbad lies in ruins. Years of war and plague have forced the Dúnedain to abandon her once bustling streets. But there is life here still: Haladin farmers have made it their home. But when an evil force awakens in the fields north of the town, they, with the help of Siriondil, are forced to look for help among the mercenaries of Arthedain. Set during the final years of the Angmar Wars, The Gift of Men is the second of the trilogy, In Tharbad. Although there are links between each volume, this part can be read as a standalone. Please note that The Gift of Men contains graphic violence. Word count: 52,990
