The Corinthian

The Light is going out.

Corinthian Des is a native of the planet Corinth, on the outskirts of the Wheel. The Corinthians once watched the Light at the center of the galaxy for signs from which they would interpret Prophecy; but for a century, the Light has become dimmer and dimmer. Des has been on a lifelong journey to the center of the Wheel to understand why this is happening and what it means, but now, after thirty years of travelling and only a third of the way to the center, Des is ready to surrender and prepares to live until he dies - whenever that may be - on an unknown planet, on the outskirts of the city of Na Falun, when a fateful encounter with the nameless Boy in the Market changes his plans.
