After Rhea's grandmother has a deadly recurrence of cancer, her mother forces her to meet with a therapist to help her sort through her grief. What happens when Dr. Hartford becomes a much more prominent figure in Rhea's already crazy life?
This short story was written for the NYC 2020 Short Story Challenge. I was given three parts of the story to include: the genre of romance, the situation of elderly care, and the character of a therapist. I understand that the situation in this story might make someone uncomfortable and I do NOT condone the act of dating your therapist (it's wrong). I was given a maximum of 2,500 words to write this story.
