After Thanos snaps half of the universe out of existence, Tony is grieving but his brain still won't stop asking questions.

Like why on Earth did Loki leave Thor a stone covered in runes that looks suspiciously like a puzzle?

He soon finds out that inside that little puzzle, the God of Lies left behind the truth. Along with his plan and the fact that his death is anything but permanent.

Also, sorry for any mistakes with Infinity War and End Game, but I genuinely think I blocked the movies out of my memory because all I remember is my favorite characters dying. :( Some of the differences are on purpose though because I didn't like a lot about the movies.

When Samantha a mutant and X-man is rescued from her captors by S.H.I.E.L.D she finds comfort from an unlikely source. This story follows the relationship between my OC Samantha Howlett and everyone's favorite Jotun Loki Odinson. This is an AU where the X-men have existed in the MCU since the very beginning they are involved in the events that take place in the MCU such as the battle of New York and other "Avengers level threats." In this AU Thor Ragnarok goes down slightly differently with Thor loosing his hammer when he falls from the bifrost instead of it being broken by Hela. He finds it later and figures out its no match for Hela. Thor then goes to forge Stormbreaker which is also not strong enough and he's forced to allow Ragnarok to take place. Thanos is killed prior to 2018 so he never gets the infinity stones and most of the events in Infinity War and Endgame do not occur. In this AU Spider-Man has a public identity now and everyone's knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He didn't flip out like he does in the movies because Tony is there to help him through it. Magic works slightly differently than it does in the movies because I wrote this before some of the rules with it were established and it's too late to change it now for story reasons. There are also other differences that luckily can be explained away via the multiverse. Though I try to draw a lot of inspiration from the main MCU timeline and work with the continuity that gives me it's not always possible to do because of how this story needs to play out. TRIGGER WARNINGS: Strong language, violence, some sexual content (honestly not much more than a PG-13 movie would show) mentions and descriptions of physical abuse and sexual abuse. Obviously I own nothing but my OCs. Enjoy!

Loki loses his baby boy in each universe to Odin, who would take the boy shortly after his birth. The soul stone decides to save the boy by embedding itself to the fragil soul and body in one universe. In this universe Loki, however, dies years before Severus even turns fifthteen. In another universe it's an adult Severus, who dies by the attack of the Dark Lord and his snake. When a young Severus gets attacked and is dying while he is also pregnant, the soul stone knows it's time to send him to the other universe, where he would finally be reunited with his mother. In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.
