Shadow Tail

Legend has it there once lived a species hidden within the shadows. This species specialized with appearing out of nowhere and disappearing without a trace. Only a few claim to have caught a glimpse of the creature's tail shadow. Of course, no one believed them and scolded them for speaking such foolishness.

However, every now and then, stocks of meat would disappear from their storages, leaving villagers and townspeople at a loss for words. In the wake of these events, the govt had to pin the blame on someone to prevent massive panic. So they framed the most notorious gangs around and killed them onsite.

Of course, this didn't stop the meat supply from disappearing but it did keep the citizens at ease... for the most part.

500 years later, the stocks of meat stopped disappearing leaving the conspirators to wonder what happened to the unknown species. If they did truly exist, then what could've drove them to extinction and why has no one discovered any bodies?

Perhaps, these creatures are nothing more than a Shadow Tail.
