Imogen had always dreamed of being a famous singer-songwriter, but lacked the feminine charm and beauty to be successful. So when the reality TV show "Britain's Next Boy-Band" was introduced, she saw it as her chance. The problem was, she wasn't a boy. Not yet. But, within a week, she'd cut her long hair short, adopted a boyish manner, and changed her identity to Cromartie Sinclair. She ventured out onto the audition stage alone and miraculously passed into the next round. Eventually she even managed to make it onto the show, where a whole new competition awaited...

Now, 10 years on, Cromartie has all but disappeared from the world stage. Having revealed her true identity to everyone, her management company and millions of fans turned on her for having deceived them. So when a former band member reaches out to Imogen to collaborate with him on a new album, Cromartie's return to the limelight seems imminent. But does the world want a Cromartie Sinclair renaissance, or will they chase her back into the shadows?
