Reaching the main door, I was holding the umbrella with my right hand and positioned myself in a way that I was ready to hit the one on the other side of the door if in case the person was a creep. With my left hand, I turned the knob and slowly opened the door.
"Sa...."
The umbrella dropped on the floor.
"Julius!" I exclaimed and jumped at him, giving him a bear tight hug. His signature, lemongrass smell engulfed me. I felt like I was finally home.
"I missed you" I mumbled against his shoulder and sniffled. Finally he was home after so long.

The grip on my chin loosened when he saw the tears form in my eyes. If I was stupid, I would've maybe considered that he regretted it. But he never took it back. Because it's true. I swallowed the shame and my nose flared as I hid the tears into anger. "I'm sorry not all of this ended in happy rainbows and roses for you," I gathered all of my strength and shoved him away from me before forcibly marching and opening my bedroom door.
