Remus' scream echoed across the battlefield, heads turning to look at him as he sprinted towards Sirius. It was like those dreams where you're running through treacle. Only this time it wasn't a dream. It was real life. His legs wouldn't go fast enough but his mind was racing with thoughts. Was he dead? He couldn't be dead!
Remus skidded to a stop before falling to his knees beside Sirius' fallen body, fingers frantically fumbling to find a pulse...'

He ran too, but his bones ached with every step, especially on the uneven terrain, he pushed back against pain, making Sirius the focal point of his mind. 2.
