First date. First kiss. First love. Almost everyone has already experienced at least one of those firsts in their high school years. Almost. There are people who still haven't had any. Perhaps because they weren't interested in anyone in high school, or because they wanted to focus more on their education. Or perhaps, because the person they loved didn't return the same feelings. Inara was one of the people who hadn't had any of her firsts. Growing up as a quiet person, it was hard for some people to approach her. Inara might seem reserved for others who didn't know her- timid, even, but once she warmed up to someone, she could be the liveliest person in the room. One day, one unfortunate event befell her that left her in tears in front of a random shop. This was when Inara started to question if the kindness she showed to everyone was worth it after all, considering how people took it for granted. Then someone came along- a complete stranger, in fact- and offered her a company even though she did not ask for it. From there, a friendship grew between two people who met on the street. Little did Inara know, this was not an ordinary friendship like she had had in the past, but a whole different thing. It was a new kind of experience where she learnt a lot about her heart and feelings as she had to endure a turbulence of emotions whenever he looked at her. ⚠ [contains manga spoilers & strong language]

"Mihika, I never knew someone would fight for my dreams more than I would myself," I whispered into the crook of her neck, my hand gently caressing her back to calm her trembling down, while the other hand softly tangled in her hair, easing her stress. "And I never knew someone could love me the way you do, Eshanth," she whispered faintly, pulling away from the embrace. My hands moved to her cheeks, wiping away the precious plears that streamed from her almond-shaped eyes. "Please, Mihika, stop them. You know I can't bear to see you cry," I said, shaking my head slightly in a silent plea. "I will, but only when you stop your tears too," she replied, and it was then I realized my own eyes were glistening. Yet, I couldn't let her see. I couldn't let her witness my vulnerability. She placed her slender fingers on my cheeks and whispered, "You'll be safe, won't you, Eshanth? You'll keep my Eshanth safe and loved, won't you?" How could I deny her innocent request when I knew she would be lost without me. "I will, but I need a promise, Mihi. You must love my Mihi even more than you've ever loved before," I told her. She gazed into my eyes, silently, just as she did on that precious day. Then, I felt her arms wrap around my neck as she stood on her toes. I lifted her onto my legs to make her more comfortable, wrapping my arms around her. Her head moved slightly, a silent response to my question as yes. ________________________________________ This is not just a love story; it's an embodiment of love in its most flawless form. Fictional, yet deeply real, it weaves the kind of emotions that make it more than just a tale-one that resonates with you on a personal level. ----------------------------------------------------------------
