Sunflower

Shawn came back from the field at sundown. Every muscle in my body visibly relaxed at seeing him safe and sound.
"WHAT WERE YOU DOING?" I screamed at his silhouette while he ran towards me.

He didn't answered and kept running as fast as his small feet could carry him. When he was finally close enough for the moon to shed some light on him, I realised he was holding a Sunflower in his hand and a dirty piece of wood . He got down on one knee and held both objects in front me.
"This," he began, holding up the piece of wood, " because you run as fast as a car"
"That's supposed to be a car?" I mocked.
"Shut up and take the gift" he frowned and threw the piece of wood at me.
" okay, thank you" I said with a laugh. Leaning down, I grabbed the "car" and a little clump of dirt.
When I got back up, the hand with the sunflower was extended to me. " I know it's your favourite" he mumbled angrily.
"It is" I answered, taking his hand and the sunflower in mine.
