Shady is an only child, her father left when she was a new born. She asked her mother why he left but she always said that he had his reasons for his departure. After a couple of years pass Shady turns 16, every thing turns upside down her mother goes into a coma after a horrible accident. She meets a dude that's a shadow person with the power to transform into the human he would have been if he wasn't one of the Shadow People. A random person tells her that she's the most powerful shadow hunter and saying that he knows her mother and that he is a Shadow Hunter himself. And not to mention the day before the stranger told her that, she discovered she was half shadow person too.

Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.Complete
