The Return
Forty years have gone by since the beginning of the Fourth Age. The time of peace is falling away as Orcs are attacking villages in Eryn Lasgalen and Gondor, killing aimlessly. Legolas receives a strange letter from Aragorn asking him to meet in Imladris. But something happens on the road and Legolas and his captain, Thaladir, discover something disturbing about the new enemy. Something that could take them, Aragorn, and others as far as the Mines of Moria. Please Note: This is an older work of mine and while I still love it dearly, the writing isn't the best, and it is slightly AU because I didn't know Tolkien lore when I started it. It started out so sweetly in Mirkwood with love and laughter. Thranduil and Legolas are still learning to love and trust each other. Though they have put most of their difficulties behind them, Legolas still struggles to recover from the abuse he suffered with Lord Katar. And whenever the question of punishment arises, he cowers in the fear of physical retribution. And now Lord Katar is back for revenge. His wrath is terrible and his tortures cruel. The hurt Thranduil and Legolas endure during their imprisonment tear apart their souls. Who will save them? And, if they are saved, how will they recover from their experiences? The Odyssey of the daughter of the forest
In the dark forest of Mirkwood, shadows are growing, again and again. The leaves are becoming black, as the roots, and as the trees. Birds are not singing anymore. Flowers have disappeared. A young elf with red hair is fighting every day for her people, who is retreating before its enemy, who is sending his troups from his black tower, in the south of Middle Earth. Orcs are coming, more and more numerous on their lands. The company of Thorin Oakenshield from the Blue Mountains will not succes to put an end to this invasion. Their fight will just postpone the deadline, by sacrifying many lives, and destroying many others. And by seperating for a while the path of two lovers, who are destined to meet again. Sixty years later, the elf joins the fellowship to save Middle Earth, once and for all, from the threat that are gliding above its people, for a long time.
