Jorric is a thief, and a good one. He's managed for years to avoid Grimelthdane Prison and to thumb his nose at the thief-lord Durmond by operating independently. His reputation as a man skilled in acquring hard-to-come-by items has served him well, until he is commissioned by a man called Gervaise to obtain a Danosite relic. Neither Gervaise nor the relic are what they appear to be, something Jorric discovers when he learns that Gervaise is not the only one desperate to obtain it. Jorric needs the gold, however, and he must find a way to obtain the relic, thwart his old enemy Durmond, and avoid getting killed in the process.
