imogen (the reader) gets into an accident and "nearly" dies. but her body refuses and returns her to her normal self. however strange things start to happen , she can see ghosts and other strange things she also has rapid healing and when she falls asleep her spirit can roam around unnoticed by the "mortals" in a place called "the further". imogen while in the further she meets a ghost that possesses young children (fireman) and a man who has the same powers as her(pedo/tucker). she spends way too much time in the further and ends up getting stuck there so her two new friends spend every minute for 2 months trying to help her find a way out. fireman and tuckers gf (paula and rachel) get jealous and ended up getting revenge with their piony being that imogen would stay away from their future husbands.
