Zam the Hybrid is in prison. Duncan Jones is on the run. The streets of Goldenrod await the war about to be waged.

Goldenrod is a city overrun by crime, a city with a police force either too incompetent or too corrupt to do anything about it. Those who do care are vastly outnumbered by those who seemingly don't, but is ignorance to blame? Or is ignorance merely feigned to hide malicious intent? Amongst all the politics, all the drama, all the confusion, a new player will soon enter the scene, and chaos will ensue, regardless of whether or not this newcomer fights for justice, or is just another menace in a city full of menaces.

At the heart of this tale of deception, grand schemes and deadly crimes lays something far simpler. For this story begins not with the largest organised crime group Goldenrod has ever seen, not with detectives attempting to uncover a web of corruption within the police force and it certainly doesn't begin with an incredibly dangerous undercover operation designed to oust the truth. This story begins, where else, but with a boy meeting a Pokémon.
