"Well met my friend, well met." She purred
......................................................................

"When your heart is broken, your boats are burned: nothing matters anymore. It is the end of happiness and the beginning of peace."

"Tis said of love that it sometimes goes, sometimes flies; runs with one, walks gravely with another; turns a third into ice, and sets a fourth in a flame: it wounds one, another it kills: like lightning it begins and ends in the same moment: it makes that fort yield at night which it besieged but in the morning; for there is no force able to resist it."

Atlantis was the first city to sink. Hundreds of cities followed, and millions of people drowned, swallowed by an unforgiving ocean. It seemed as if half the world was underwater. Among the few survivors was Ayesha Akhdir. In a post-apocalyptic world, Ayesha must navigate visions and voices, discovering abilities she can't explain. Ayesha soon meets others who have survived, each with their own unique abilities. She doesn't know why she's survived or what her purpose is. She doesn't have long to find out. A Court of Golden Shadow || Elain x Azriel by pinkrasberryfish
43 parts Complete Mature
Following the events of the Azriel bonus chapter... Extremely slow-burn sexy Elriel, angsty Az, forbidden love, glamorous parties, powers, and DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA. Smutty, sexy, angsty... NSFW -- Love? Friendship? Mistake. Shuddering into her sheets, she flung off the quilt and heaved a sigh. It WAS a mistake. Clearly she was broken. And it wasn't the cauldron that did it. It was her. Because SHE picked Grayson while still human and then Azriel after becoming fae. But all Elain kept receiving was rejection, rejection, rejection. If immortality was just filled with getting her heart broken into pieces once every couple years over and over and over... she didn't want it. She wanted safety. She wanted security. She wanted a love that was written in the stars, perfectly laid out for her, and safe to grasp ahold of. And that's when she realized it: she wanted fate... but more specifically... she wanted to live by the cauldron's decision. Because if she couldn't choose love for herself without getting her heart broken, then perhaps she should put her trust in the cauldron. But she would do it her way. The primal nature of a mating bond was fae enough... it needed some... grooming. Leaving the comfort of her quilts and standing up, she drew towards the window, overlooking the front lawn of the River Mansion. Looking out her window, Elain came to a decision, her eyes gliding across the Sidra as it wound its way through Velaris and out into the realm of the rest of the Night Court. Court. Courting. She would court Lucien Vanserra, trust the cauldron, and get the Hells out of the Night Court and away from these infernal shadows."

(Part 2/3 of Discordant Note) (Part 1: Discordant Note | TBATE) Toren Daen entered the Central Cathedral feeling hope, ready to challenge the High Vicar and prove his soul. He left it broken, his wings sundered and torn. But Toren has a spark; an ember of fire left in his heart that the people around him strive to rekindle. And if Fate is kind, he may just rise from this defeat like the ghostly phoenix bound to his soul. Toren knows he can help the world he has found himself in. Now, the only task is to flap the butterfly's wings-because Toren hopes to change the outcome of the Dicathian war. But it will not be so simple. The Scythes loom about him like the blades of executioners, always watching and waiting. The twisted politics of Alacrya have sunk their claws deep into Toren's soul, and though he may set foot on another continent with the hopes of giving the Dicathians a chance, those he cares for will always chain his heart. Arthur Leywin, twin Anchor for the Legacy, will not bend to the change Toren heralds so easily. Seris Vritra has plans of her own for Toren as they enter the war in Darv, and there is no telling if his desires fit anywhere within her schemes. The Hearth looms as a beacon of hope: if Toren lives long enough to make it there. And behind it all, two gods play a game of chess: and they both have a question on their minds as the war of lessers reaches a crescendo. How many times can a phoenix die before it will no longer rise from the ashes? (Updates Tuesdays/Saturdays) (Cover art commissioned by @_aphora_)
