The Academy

Each year, 100 students are chosen to participate in the Night Hawk Society's three-month training academy. The students must be the child of an existing member and be only thirteen.
​If they pass, they become a part of an elite, underground organization that protects the human world from monsters. If they fail, however, they must give up everything, including their families.
Kaylee McCleen has been chosen to participate in this year's training academy, but when monster attacks begin to hit closer to home, and citizens start to disappear, Kaylee begins to question everything she thought she knew about the organization and her small town.
And, then there's the mysterious Mitch Harrod, a boy two years older than the rest of the initiates, who seems to be harboring a secret that could change everything.
Will Kaylee pass the academy? Or will she have to walk away from her life.
