Centuries ago, werewolves fought amongst each other for power. Brothers killed brothers, family betrayed family all for the race to get to the top. Lycans are the strongest of all werewolves, and despite their small numbers they were able to bring order to the chaos of the war for power. These lycans were all from the same family, and together they branched off and created packs for the restless wolves. Alphas and Lunas ruled beside each other creating peace. However, despite the peace the lycan's growing family had made, power hungry wolves felt the need to show more dominance. This lead to human slavery. The few lycans that wanted more were disgusted that humans were living freely, without a second thought or a care in the world. Now, humans are viewed as pets and exploited in any way their Master pleases. 

The Crimson Comet Pack Alpha and Luna are direct decendents of the Lycans, giving them an aura of power that no werewolf can match, and strength that is not to be trifled with. Valence is the daughter of Alpha Andreas and Luna Audrey of the Crimson Comet Pack. On her 16th birthday, her parents force her to get a human slave. Some packs treat humans as their equals, but the Crimson Comet Pack was founded by one of the harshest lycans of all, Alpha Xavier. The laws he put into place centuries ago are still seen today. Slaves in this pack are seen as the lowest of the lows. Despite this, Valence sees humans as people, not objects that are to be used and broken.
