"As anxiety pooled in her stomach, it was all she could do to keep from throwing up on his leg and giving away her position. Yet she knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that Freddy could sense where she was hiding. There was nowhere she could go in the restaurant where an animatronic wouldn't find her. She had no hope. She was going to die." 17 year old Cathryn has to be strong. For her friend Markus who's being relentlessly bullied at school, her cousin Chance who's too young to understand why his dad is in therapy and unable to take care of him, and mostly, for her poor, overworked mom who does all she can to keep their lives together. You moved out of that town, far far away, and lived a normal life. Although; only for so long. Things come crashing down after you are having nightmares about Afton supposedly coming back. To add to your worry, it appears on the news that a new 'horror attraction' has opened in the little town. The stress of him possibly making a return was too much, so you make the bold choice to drive over to the small town where it all started, and make sure that doesn't happen. You stumble across a certain someone on the way, who happens to have a similar motive to you; and unbeknown to you, who also has a deep history with the man you both aim to taking down.
