Exile: The Book of Ever by JamesCormier
30 parts Complete
Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

In Symmetria, a city obsessed with looking perfect while everything underneath is falling apart, the cracks are getting harder to ignore. The leaders? They're more focused on keeping their polished image intact than actually running the place. But chaos is brewing, and guess who's making a comeback? Ravi, the power-hungry dictator with a tighter grip on the city than ever. And trust me, things are about to get messy. Enter Sunaina, a sharp, determined force of nature, and her loyal (but definitely not boring) friends Jenna and Marcus. They're caught in the middle of all this chaos, trying to save Symmetria from Ravi's iron fist, while dealing with the fact that trust is about as rare as a flaw in this so-called perfect city. Betrayal? Oh, it's lurking in every corner, and hidden agendas? They're sprouting like weeds in a manicured garden. The trio needs to figure out who's on their side-and fast-because the clock is ticking. In this city, loyalty is more fickle than the weather, and ambition? Well, that'll lead you straight into disaster if you're not careful. With the cracks in Symmetria's perfect facade getting deeper by the day, the leaders will have to face not just Ravi but also the enemies within their own ranks. As everything unravels, one question remains: How far are they willing to go to protect their "perfect" city? And who can they actually trust when every choice could pull them deeper into chaos-or worse? Buckle up for a wild ride. Power, ambition, and loyalty are about to collide in ways no one saw coming. Because in Symmetria, nothing's as perfect as it seems, and every move could be their last.

Three years ago, the world ended. What followed was worse. When the world fell, the Apex rose from the ashes, enforcing a single unbreakable law: all children over the age of six must be handed over. Most families never see their children again. No one knows why they take them, or what happens to them behind the Apex's walls. Eighteen-year-old Zara Creed has spent the last three years scavenging for food and supplies in the ruins of a crumbled society. She's learned to survive, to avoid the Apex's patrols, and to protect her family at all costs. But when she hears the chilling wail of the government's siren-a signal of random house checks-she hides, waiting for the danger to pass. When Zara finally makes it home after hours of waiting out the sirens, she finds her world shattered. Her sister is gone, taken by the Apex. Her parents tell her to let it go, to move on like everyone else, but Zara refuses. She's lost too much already. There's no way she's giving up on her sister. With nothing but determination and sheer will, she sets off to sneak into the Apex's heavily guarded city. Inside, she runs into Jin young, a guy on his own mission to save his best friend. Neither of them trusts easily, but with no other options, they team up. As they dig deeper into the Apex's secrets, they're joined by two more rebels, each with their own reasons for fighting back. Together, they'll risk everything to take down the Apex, uncover the truth about what really happens to the children, and save the ones they love. With danger around every corner and time running out, Zara must confront not only the horrors of the Apex but also the sacrifices required to save those she loves. Because for her, it's not just about rebellion-it's about family.
