Identity theft
In a dystopian future where Earth lies in ruins after the Great War, the descendants of survivors possess unique powers born from decades of radiation exposure. These abilities, drawn from atom manipulation, fall into four categories: elemental powers, flight, telekinesis, and the rarest of all-shapeshifting. While shapeshifters are revered, their abilities come with severe limitations: fleeting transformations and permanent physical traits that endure across forms. To escape the grinding poverty of their world, people are drawn into a televised competition where they perform for a shot at a better life. The crown jewel of these games is the shapeshifter, whose transformations are evaluated for government recruitment. Austin, however, is no ordinary shapeshifter. He can hold his forms for days without the usual physical limitations - but this extraordinary power comes with a dark cost. After a traumatic brain injury, Austin lost his memories, and with the complete loss of his sense of self, the ability to become anyone was discovered. Struggling with a fractured identity, he's faced with a painful choice: survive by stealing the identity of others, or try to uncover the truth of who he was before the accident. **Updating more often for the 8 Chapter Challenge through Wattpad!**
