Nora Lin is an insomniac. Plagued by nightmares, she can't recall a night of peaceful sleep in five years. Unable to fall asleep, she nominates to be one of the prefects, responsible for patrolling the dormitories of St Claire Preparatory. When strange things start happening in the school, Nora and the other prefect, Elijah Dumont, set out to investigate.

The more time she spends with Elijah, the more she begins to realise that she may be in over her head, that the Dumont siblings were not at all what they seemed, and that the forces working against them may be more than human.
