Fate is a playful thing

We met at a place that brought us near yet so far

We met at a time when you are with her and I am with him

You smile with her while I ache with him.

And so my heart yearns for you

Behind your sweet smile is a hidden mischief

Behind your quiet demeanor is a brilliant mind

Behind your gentle eyes is a determined soul.

I see it all, does she see it, too?

I wish I could tell you all of this

But my wish remains a wish

And I could only watch you from afar

Not knowing whether you see me too.

Yes, fate is a playful thing.

While I never meant to fall for you

I am now falling deep and falling hard

Deep into a fantasy that could never be.
