I believed many things in life but luck isn't one of them, until I met him. I never thought I would want to protect someone other than my family but he became the king in the game of chess where I was the queen. And a queen would always protect her king. A game, they started but I'll finish and win. I vowed to protect her. She isn't the black or white. She is the gray, the lightest shade. With all the white and hints of black. Siphoning my black, but never changing her shade. She is the sun peeking through the clouds. Giving enough light to see things through, not like bright sunshine that burns the skin neither hiding behind the clouds. Just enough.
