"He's still in there", Maya heard Arachne whisper, and she closed her eyes, letting her own tears flow. He hadn't given up his fight with himself and she swore to find him, no matter the price.
She sat in his chair, her heart once again pounding.
"Why the long face, it worked, didn't it?", Tina asked and to Maya it felt like that was thousands of kilometers away.
"His eye", she whispered more to herself, "it's not blue anymore... it's even more gold than before..."
She was able to wake him from his trance, but he might be even more gone than before.

Midas was born with a curse: The Golden Touch. Everything he touched turned to gold. He never knew why the gods even gave him the curse in the first place, but now, all he can do to keep himself from destructing the world and causing chaos with his abilities is to hide from the world and remain anonymous. There was a way to control his power, but his stress and anxiety keep him from being able to. As a result, all his life he has remained isolated from the world, with no one else except for the gods to guide him throughout life and his daughter, Skye. Then, one day, he goes out into society and accidentally exposes himself in front of everyone. Now, the people know who he is and what he is capable of, and start hunting him down. Many think all he can do now is hide and run, but hopefully he will be able to fully escape this mess and turn things back to the perfect way they were before. This story is honestly become a corrupted/inaccurate portrayal of my headcannons for the characters (don't get me wrong, this was still a pleasure to write), so attached at the end of this book is a chapter called Character Insights/Headcannons that I honestly recommend reading more as it is a non regretful version of this fiction I made that I love. This is an Agent Jones x Reader Fortnite fanfiction story that takes place during the Chapter 2, Season 6 Zero Crisis event and continues throughout the future seasons. Here's a summary: Y/N has been stuck in the Loop for a long time now, and throughout their time in it, they've witnessed a lot of events occur. Out of all of them, though, there was one particular event that interested them the most. A special one that involved the Device. It was during Y/N's time as a Ghost agent. When Midas finally showed his true allegiance, he activated the Device, attempting to push back the Storm. That wasn't all it did, though. It also managed to transport Y/N to the Bridge for a few, short times. During those times, they always ended up in some sort of office, hearing many voices outside of it. The last time, though, was when they met Agent Jones, who was a member of the Imagined Order at the time. About 10 months have passed since the Device event, with Y/N continuing to think about who that strange man was. However, they would soon meet again when the IO loses control of the Zero Point, forcing Jones to betray the organization and get help from the Seven, along with a surprise companion as well. A companion with some unanswered questions and an interest to get to know the sharp-looking man. All rights go to Epic Games and all the other developers of Fortnite.Complete
