After bring kidnapped by Lessers and having her voice box irreparable, Hope finds herself in a mansion surrounded by people who claim they are vampires. Not only that but one of them turns out to be her father. Another, it seems, she is drawn to. 

John Matthew has been alone in the vast world of vampires and Lessers for years. No mate, no family aside from Beth, and no real connection to the vampire family he finds himself among. Being mute never bothered him until he found her in that room. Found her bleeding and on the verge of death. 

Now both are faced with the challenge of communication without voices? Fitting in and learning how the world works. 
Can both John Matthew and Hope learn together? Can Hope acclimate to her new surroundings? To being mute? To knowing who her father is?
