IPM Preparation Strategy IIM Indore conducts IPM Aptitude Test every year for admissions into its 5 years Integrated Program in Management. Every year 17000 students give exam for this prestigious course and only 150 students get admission. This implies that there should be a proper strategy to prepare for this exam to succeed. Before we move forward with our detailed strategy, let us briefly look into the patter of IPMAT: 1. The 2 hour online test comprises of 100 questions and 400 marks; 2. Divided into two sections - Quantitative Aptitude (60 questions) and Verbal Aptitude (40 questions) Further, selected students reach to WAT-PI round, for which one need to clear overall and sectional cut-offs. Preparation Strategy: As you have noticed, quantitative aptitude section covers 60% of total marks, which mean that focus should be more on quants section. Questions in quants are of difficulty level from moderate to difficult. Quantitative section is basically concept driven, so focus should be on strengthening basics. Preparation of quantitative aptitude is always strengthen with mock tests. Mock test should be attempted regularly with a clear cut plan. Plan is needed, since it is not an actual test you can test different strategies and opt which works best for you. Secondly, Data Interpretation requires lots of practice and fast calculation speed. For speed lots of short cuts are taught, start applying from day one. But again, practice is the key here. Verbal aptitude needs basics to be strong i.e., your grammatical knowledge. Further, Reading comprehension requires lot of reading practice; develop a habit of reading, read as much as you can. Again here too mock tests play a very important role in IPM-AT.
