There is no self-harm, however, there are certain aspects that might still be triggering in that regard. The general plot is described in the Preface (which was somewhat hijacked, by the way), and the Introduction. In a nutshell, it turns out that Universes are the dead carcasses of heavenly beings that were cast out of some sort of heaven. Life as we know it? Part of the decay process--bacteria growing on a corpse that yet contains a bit of usable energy. What to do about a multitude of dead Universes? Wheels are in motion.
