After Obi-Wan's supposed death, Anakin is devastated. He receives a surprise offer which will hopefully allow him to end the Clone Wars and save the galaxy, except it means allying with Count Dooku, who has his own agenda. With no anchor and minimal control, Anakin is left vulnerable to the Dark Side. And Sidious will stop at nothing to get his prized apprentice back.

Sidious too blind and power hungered, insists it continues, as more pain will make his apprentice more force powerful and the perfect slave of rage and darkness. Only, the pain was far greater than anything that could matter and Anakin, for yes, he was still Anakin Skywalker at that point, was seeking to end it. End it all.
