Green Apple (A Short Story)

In a society which punishes suicide attempts with prison, Fumio chooses suicide rather than coping with his feelings towards his lover, Ruo, and his crushing guilt. Their relationship is an unfortunate one and a big secret to the world around them. Not being able to keep it a secret and feeling unfit to continue living without his lover, he chose to give up his whole life for Ruo, rather than bringing their names to shame. Knowing that there would be no more going back, Fumio attempts to take his own life, but fails miserably. Fumio is now at his lowest, rotting away in prison, longing about his past life. The main question which always crosses his mind is "Is it worth it living in a world like this, that punishes both life - love, and death?"
