A girl in Delhi has a brilliant mind and secrets darker than the nights that won't let her eyes close. She lives in the Labyrinth, a place that always seems dim, even in the middle of the day. There, customers flock in their dozens, and there, the girl is exploited for profit in unthinkable, irreversible ways. Her traffickers change her name regularly to throw off authorities, and survival seems only a flicker in the pool of murky water she must bathe in each morning. Though she has known little more than this life of poverty and forced prostitution, when she meets an elderly woman named Ucchal, everything could change. Ucchal works for an anti-trafficking unit, and her questions lead the girl to question herself and her surroundings. If there is a path to freedom, how dangerous is that path, and what hopeful or harrowing discoveries wait at the end?

At eighteen, she was betrayed by the very people who should have protected her sold into a house where women are stripped of their will and forced to serve under the cruel mask of survival. What followed was years of torment, beatings, humiliation, and the slow erasure of her voice. She did not live; she endured. But endurance can only last so long. Behind every forced smile, every silenced scream, she nurtures a single truth: she will not die within those walls. Her escape is not a dream it is a promise she makes to herself every night. Yet freedom is never simple. When her path collides with a man whose past is as fractured as her own, a new struggle begins. He is pulled toward her shadow without understanding why, but she scarred by betrayal and bound by fear cannot bring herself to believe in the tenderness she has longed for all her life. Caught between her past that still claws at her, a present that cages her, and an uncertain future that tempts her. She faces questions that cut deeper than chains: Will she find a way to break free? Will she allow herself to trust what her heart has always craved? Or will the house of shadows tighten its grip, binding her forever? Some stories aren't about survival alone. They're about what a soul dares to dream, even in the darkest prison. This is my first story.
