The Sky Isn't Blue

There is an old saying that life isn't what it seems. I believe in this theory of life. Life is unpredictable and can take any unexpected turn anytime, anywhere and I guess that is what makes it special. Life is a gift, literally and metaphorically. You never know what is in the gift box until you open it and after you do, that moment is joyful, surprising it is something special. That's is what life is all about. Hi, my name is Penelope Meredith Alexandra Valerie Quinn. I know, that's an awfully long name but I have been named after my grandmother and two generations before her as in my great grandmother and my great - great grandmother and I respect that. I believe that everything has its own set of pro's and con's. I usually refer to myself as Penny Quinn just to keep it short but my close friends and family call me Penny or Mary or EDITH (I love Tony Stark) or Alex or Alexa or Val or Erie. So anyways, I am currently seventeen years old, soon to be eighteen and I am very single. I have never even had a boyfriend before. Why? That's because I had to pull myself out of school when I was twelve. Why? That's because when I was twelve, I was diagnosed with leukemia and I still am suffering. I have seen this hospital more than I have even seen my own house. Why? I used to study at a boarding school. I was sent off by my parents when I was five and I came back when I was eleven. Now, my parents come to visit my once a month and my life revolves around this hospital. I have four best friends in this hospital, all five of us have leukemia.

This is my story, this is my voice, this is me.

It is me finding love, me unveiling the secrets of life, and me learning to live.
