A Mermaid Forgotten

All of the mermaids were hunted. None are left. Only the occasional memory of them from witnesses and relatives. But even those are near extinct.

They say that they were once proud creatures, who openly swam in the ocean and formed alliances with different peoples. Proud creatures who lived no fear for the future.

Perhaps that's why those proud creatures are extinct, gone, merely fantasies from tales like the Little Mermaid.

The mermaids were known for their great royalty that they held, and the dignity they posed in their proud way of swimming and holding their heads high every step of the way.

Even when their homes were destroyed.
