Purple sparks fly by me and the shouts of creatures put up for sacrifice are deafening. A scream pierces the air as my beak tears through my mother's flesh. I stare at her dead corpse and my bloodstained wings. My "sisters" haven't yet noticed the death of their leader and I wonder for a moment, if maybe they're right. Maybe this is all my fault. Maybe I was the monster they claimed.
