When Annabeth leaves Percy alone in Tartarus without a second thought, Percy discovers a side of him that years ago he would have tried to suppress. But things have change, and so has he. He had adapted. However, when the chance to go back to the 'surface', as he had come to call it, arises he jumps at the opportunity. He would finally be able to see his family again.
