When Annabeth leaves Percy alone in Tartarus without a second thought, Percy discovers a side of him that years ago he would have tried to suppress. But things have change, and so has he. He had adapted. However, when the chance to go back to the 'surface', as he had come to call it, arises he jumps at the opportunity. He would finally be able to see his family again.

Go ahead and laugh, it's kinda cheesy. But Percy Jackson doesn't take any flack from critics so calm down. Anyway. The way I lost everything, the way everything I'd known and believed in, was whisked away from me just like that is within this book.
