This was a challenge issued by @maripaz_villar , a comic artist who's work I've enjoyed and admired for quite some time. The challenge was to take this drawing and write this girl a back story. Naturally I jumped at the chance.
    
    I have named her Katrina and dropped her and her in my homeland, Goshen County, Wyoming. According to 'Wind Pudding and Rabbit Tracks', a history of Goshen County, the 1915 census reported 26 American American males and 22 African American females residing in Goshen County. I felt the need to honor them in historical fiction.
    
    I bent the rules of #WriteMyStory and opted to write an epic instead. Unfortunately it will not fit in the allotted space on Instagram so I will have to direct everyone to @wattpad 
    
    If you're interested in seeing more stories like this one please make sure people of my generation have access to historical records, information, and education. Support museums and libraries. (I would also love it if someone got it in their head to print a second edition of Wind Pudding and Rabbit Tracks. 😉)
