IAAN- Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. It kills 90% of kids under ten. It's the disease that plagues my world. And no one knows what caused it.

At first the people feared the disease because it killed 90% of America's children. But then, they feared it because of what it did to the ones who lived. The ones like me.

It turned us into freaks, as the adults like to say. The disease gave us special abilities. We were strong. The government feared us.

As the government does when it fears things, it locked us away. They segregated us by colour, by danger, and sent us to live in camps. But I won't have that. Jia Thorin won't have that. I will do whatever it takes to stop this, including joining the Children's League, an organization that advocates for the kids of America, the ones who live.

The ones like me.

Green- those who developed enhanced mental and intellectual powers as a result of IAAN - Safe

Blue- those who developed telekinetic powers as a result of IAAN - Guarded

Yellow- those who developed electrokinetic powers as a result of IAAN - Caution

Red- those who developed pyrokinetic powers as a result of IAAN - EXTREME DANGER

Orange- those who developed mind control powers as a result of IAAN - ELIMINATE

INCAPABLE - BOOK I: THE FALLEN by MiquelaVeronique
21 parts Complete
ONCE my mom told me that we, as humans, only fear what we do not know and that that is the sole reason for violence. We do not know what is to come of something, so in retaliation we immediately fight it off before we can ever find out; before we can ever see if there is any beauty in it. My mom is gone now. Along with any sanity we as a people have left. The year is 2193, and the world is at war. We, humans, are at war with each other only because of what we are and what we can do. We fear what we do not know, thus all we know is ignorance. The government, our democracy, our people and our world have fallen. Nothing good ever comes from being afraid of the abnormalities of others, especially when those abnormalities are amazing. The truth is, none of us are normal. Everyone's definition of normality is different, making it humanly impossible for anyone to ever accomplish the craved label of "normal". Then again, everything we have grown capable of was once described as humanly impossible. By those standards none of us are human. Not even me. A U T H O R ' S N O T E : This book is completed and there will be a second book coming out sometime next year, most likely in the summer. Please excuse any grammar issues or misspellings I have. I hope there are not many, but please consider I do all of the editing myself. Also this is a revised edition of Incapable - Book I: The Fallen. I think I have made it much better than the original story I wrote in the summer of this year and posted only a few months ago. I hope you enjoy! Happy reading. Xoxo, Miquéla P.S. I'm more than open to Q & A in the comments section or on my board if you have any questions regarding the book or just in general. :)

"All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed." Lillian, a girl born in the state of Virginia, finds herself forced to live in a world of hatred and violence. 97% of the teenage population in America is killed by the disease known as IAAN and Chelsea is part of the remaining 3%. The surviving kids, however, change. They develop dangerous and uncontrollable psionic abilities, classified into five colors by degree of danger: -GREEN: impressive development of intelligence; -BLUE: telekinesis; -YELLOW: electrokinesis or manipulation of electric currents; -RED: pyrokinesis; -ORANGE: mind control and brain manipulation. Hated and feared by adults, the survivors are taken to 'rehabilitation camps', where they are promised a cure that unfortunately never comes through. So it's up to Lillian and all the other kids like her to learn to thrive in the dark and create their own light. This story is taken from the series 'The Darkest Minds' by Alexandra Bracken. I only own this specific novel and its characters.
