Zara has always been the odd one out. She is 13, yet she has no wings. Her best friends used to pick her up and take her around. They are gone now. So are her sisters and her brother.  Zara discovers a book in the library.  She learns that every 50 years a Pinax grows without wings. They can earn them by finding a special place. Zara begins by finding the previous Pinax born without wings. Only then can she begin her journey to where the Sun meets the Moon.
