Kayla Everson is a 18 year old girl, who left her home to study law in Boston. She doesn't want much from life, loves being on her own. Always worked better that way. And now that she is starting this new life journey, she has only one important rule in her heart. Do not fall in love, under any circumstance. With this rule of a shield, she embarks confident in her future. On the other hand we have the genius Aaron Andrews. He is one eager, spontaneous, very determined 19 year old, who will also study law...in Boston. He is not in a search of a special someone, yet he isn't against one either. He just never really had the time to think about it. So to sum it all up, we have a girl who doesn't want love in her life, at any cost, and a guy who doesn't really care about it. I have just one question. What happens when they meet? What happens when an unexplainable strong pull, pushes them towards each-other constantly? How do they stop this undeniable feeling? Will Kayla break her rule and make an exception? (Not likely) Will Aaron give up on this new emotion he has stumbled upon? (Not likely either) He is VERY stubborn. So what happens when secrets, lies, betrayals, pasts are discovered? What happens when the Truth comes out and turns everything upside down? Because like we all know, the truth always comes out. What happens when Kayla finds herself in a horrible position, having to make the hardest decision of her life? Will she choose love or well...love? (Kinda confusing right? Yeah I know. I'm weird.) But really, what happens? (Dual pov)

Kayla Madison is a normal-ish sixteen-year old whose main desire is simple-make it through high school without embarrassing herself too much in the process. It doesn't help that she's being followed by dark figures no one else sees. When a man with incredible speed, unbelievable power, strange old-fashion clothes, and an obnoxious personality threatens her life, she discovers she is a rare "two-worlder" -a person with one parent from Earth and the other from Earth Prime. She escapes another attack by jumping through a portal to the alternate dimension, much to the chagrin of her protector. As if managing without electricity, cars, and phones on the more Edwardian world weren't enough stress; she finally meets her long-absent father, a scientist in the top-secret field of Trans-Dimensional Travel. Things get more complicated when she realizes her best friend's father, or rather the Earth Prime version of him, might have been the person that orchestrated the assaults. ___ Thanks for reading! I've been working on this story for quite a while and have drafts for a five book series. I would love feedback on what I can do to make it a stronger story. If there are things you enjoy, let me know (so I don't change those parts.) :) All portions of the story have been submitted and final chapters will visible by Nov 18, 2023. Among other degrees, I have my MFA in creative writing. I am a science teacher when I am not writing.

Hi, I'm Kayla. Kayla Fletcher. A typical 20 year old girl, who can speak Russian and is running from her past. It's been 6 years since the day I escaped. It's been 6 years since I've been stuck. Unable to move on. Until him. He gets me moving, and dare I say it, I get him moving too. This sounds like a typical love story, right? Well, it isn't. This is a story of how two people try to erase their demons and move on with their lives. Both of us were stuck and now both of us can move forward. Together. Just remember, no matter what you do, you are not a bad person for the ways you tried to kill your silence.
