A virus wiped out most of the world. But four cities are still standing, however, one city holds many dark secrets.
"Everything was pitch black, dark and foggy with no clear view. She walked around aimlessly, trying to find someone or something. She was stuck walking in an endless darkness. She tried so hard to remember how and why she got here. "HELP!", a childlike voice yelled in the distance. She tried to run towards the sound of the child weeping, calling out for help, but she couldn't move. Its like she was frozen in place. She kept on hearing the child's sobs and cries for help, the voice, however, seemed familiar to her, like she's heard it before. It's almost like-"
"Cmon we'll be late for training!"
BTW: this book is based off of a lot of movies. Like Darkest Minds and Maze Runner. So if it has those elements, just know that it is based off of them. Also there might be some swear words and some blood and if those things make you uncomfortable then don't read.

This is a second view point from my original story - A Different Virus - Heartfire. I highly advise reading the original book first. Intro: Laura was a happy child without a care in the world. She loved her parents and life was perfect. Nothing seemed like it could go wrong. People started talking about a bad flu that was spreading and sending some into a coma. Her parents grew worried and stocked the house in case of a pandemic. Months later another virus appeared. Her family was shocked when the news people started reporting that zombies were actually real and not just part of a horror movie. They were appearing in every country. Her parents reassured her that none of the zombie sightings had been anywhere close to them. Her life is turned upside down when her father ends up in hospital with the bad flu and mother exiles her upstairs for her safety. She was never allowed downstairs again. Weeks pass and the streets become deserted with the exception of the red eyed zombies that wandered around. One night she notices a swiftly moving figure with glowing blue eyes in the street below. Should she call out or remain silent? Escaped Valley
A group of female friends set out on a trip at a valley at darkest hour, unaware of a deadliest disease that was spreading from an unknown mysterious wild creature that appears as the size of human, on upon reaching the valley they meet dozen groups of people and particularly a group of three boys they met and befriends them unexpectedly, but as the next day comes some tourist who supposedly came from copter someone among them came infected turning into the monster while his eyes bleeds and sniff over for the fresh blood to quench the thirst and hunger. Amidst the chaos and destruction this group of people becomes more closer as they try to protect one another. while witnessing deads and bloodsheds as infected people turn wild, they struggle for their life while hoping for rescue. Imagine living in a world with a separate country where everyone is discriminated against the rest of the world for having the perfect mentality of a psycho due to chemicals exposed and experimented on far back into the bloodline as life itself? Unlike other countries these kids are forced to be contestants in a simulation game each sorted into a sect, determination, intellect, confidence, judgment and empathy whereas those from everywhere else could buy their way out or refuse, How do you think this story will end up? a story i wrote inspired by multiple dystopian stories such as, maze runner, the hunger games, divergent and even squid games where within the story my friends are the cast.

Sanctuary. That was what the quarantine dome was supposed to be, a place of refuge from the N-Gel and the deadly Neoplague they unleashed on the world. But we aren't safe here. Senna is uprooted from her rural life in the outer dome when her mother agrees to marry the President of Sanctuary. It was supposed to be a Cinderella story, but Senna can't stand the health and status obsessed city. Her only escape comes from repairing an antique piece of wireless tech, an endeavor that is seemingly hopeless due to the interference that reduced such tech useless after the invasion. Senna believes that if she can get the device to work, she can use it to contact the life she left behind. However, it isn't her old life she reaches when she gets the device to power on. Instead she catches the SOS of a little girl who claims to be held captive in the toxic world outside of the dome. The girl offers a reward for her rescue-the cure for the plague that forced humanity into quarantine and took Senna's father from her. It was a Sunday night, family night for the Greens. They were playing a board game when it happened. At exactly 11:11 pm; a time for wishes, a sixteen year old girl wished for true love one day. At that exact moment her window smashed and something flew into her room. It was a flock of them; they attracted the house and only took one thing: the girl. She remembers it clearly, the way she screamed scared out of her mind. The way it grabbed her waist and took off. She remembers screaming for help but no one came to her rescue. Oh how she wishes that she left her safety knife in her room. Then they would be safe. Her family! She just hopes they were fine, but the conclusion that she was taken says that her family would be back to normal soon. She sighs and thinks over her life. From a little kid she was always the loner. But her family loved her to death. It all changed when she turned ten. The world was changing. She remembers the exact day at the exact time. Her birthday; she calls it the hell day.
