two friends have gotten along so well for the past 8 years, but now that they're in highschool they both start to figure out what it's like on both sides of the food chain. August one of the two boys had become popular, and people just seemed to exist around him. While James ended up on the other side. People who used to be friends would avoid him, and the jerks from the football team would even bully him, whenever August wasn't around.

I spit out words, scared for his reaction. He sighs, "That doesn't fucking mean I hate gays. Normally when I do that it's because someone's using the word 'gay' to hate on them, it just pisses me off, you know?" He asks, bringing the crackers back into his lap and biting into them.
